Job Overview: The Project Coordinator for the TVET-3 Project will play a crucial role in coordinating the implementation of the project aimed at enhancing employability in Iraq through technical and vocational education and training (TVET). This position is integral to the successful execution of the project, which focuses on greening and digitalization in education. The coordinator will be responsible for articulating a comprehensive work plan, updating project budgets, and ensuring alignment with UNESCO's regulations and donor expectations. The role requires building partnerships with Iraqi Technical Universities and facilitating activities that promote greening and digitalization. The coordinator will also monitor and evaluate project implementation, manage procurement processes, prepare documentation and reports, conduct field missions, and support the UNESCO Iraq Office in securing potential donors.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include:
Coordinating the implementation of the TVET-3 project by developing and updating work plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives, and maintaining partnerships with educational institutions.
Monitoring and evaluating project activities, providing advisory support to consultants, and developing tools for improved reporting.
Managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and monitoring vendor performance.
Preparing project documentation, progress reports, and presentations, and ensuring effective visibility of project results.
Conducting field missions to monitor activities and engage with local stakeholders.
Performing additional duties as required, including supporting the identification of potential donors and participating in consultation meetings.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, or a closely related field. Candidates must possess a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in education or TVET, with at least two years at the international level. Experience in education and training or skills development projects is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, excellent coordination skills, knowledge of results-based management, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, or a closely related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of the education sector and the specific challenges faced in technical and vocational education and training.
