Job Overview:
The Analyst position is integral to the EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses Programme, which aims to provide advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their business capabilities and access to financing. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks including project initiation, structuring, execution, and monitoring of advisory projects. This role requires collaboration with international teams and stakeholders to identify business needs and develop tailored advisory solutions. The Analyst will also engage in business development activities to create a compliant project pipeline and ensure that advisory services align with the strategic directions of the SME Finance & Development group. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for SMEs and facilitating their growth through effective advisory support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will perform a wide range of duties under the supervision of the Principal Manager, including but not limited to: executing all activities under the Advice for Small Businesses Programme in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures; conducting due diligence to ensure compatibility with strategic priorities; engaging in stakeholder outreach and coordination of visibility activities; analyzing clients’ financials and growth prospects to provide impactful advisory support; contributing to business development by generating a pipeline of high-quality clients; monitoring portfolio companies’ performance and identifying follow-up support; preparing and submitting accurate financial reports; and supporting marketing and visibility initiatives to promote the programme. The Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining organized documentation and ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal control standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, along with strong business and financial analytical skills. The ability to interpret financial accounts and conduct thorough analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills, as well as effective communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Experience in writing project proposals and reports is desirable. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory, and proficiency in the local language is also required. Candidates should be computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance is required for this position. Advanced degrees or additional certifications in project management or financial analysis may be advantageous but are not mandatory. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding business operations and financial principles, which are critical for the Analyst role.

Experience:
Relevant professional experience is required, preferably in commercial management consultancy, development institutions, or financial institutions such as banks. Candidates should have a good understanding of EBRD’s strategic SME priority areas, including green economy, economic inclusion, sustainable supply chains, and digitalization. Experience working in the local business environment and familiarity with the consultancy market are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of business advisory services and relevant stakeholders in the SME sector.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as the role involves collaboration with international teams and stakeholders. Additionally, fluency in the local language of Iraq is essential to effectively communicate with clients and partners. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
