Job Overview:
The Analyst position is integral to the EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses Programme, which aims to provide advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their business operations and access to financing. The Analyst will engage in various stages of project management, including initiation, structuring, execution, and monitoring of advisory projects. This role requires collaboration with clients to assess their business needs and identify areas where advisory support can be beneficial. The Analyst will also be responsible for developing project scopes, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring that all activities align with the strategic priorities of the EBRD. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior team members and contribute to the growth and development of SMEs in the region, ultimately supporting economic development and job creation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities under the Advice for Small Businesses Programme. These include:
  • Executing advisory projects in compliance with EBRD policies and donor requirements, ensuring ethical conduct and integrity in all dealings.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of clients’ financial situations and growth potential to tailor advisory support effectively.
  • Generating a pipeline of high-quality clients and advisory activities, particularly in strategic areas such as digitalization and green economy.
  • Monitoring the performance of portfolio companies and providing ongoing support to enhance their financing opportunities.
  • Collaborating with local consultants and stakeholders to broaden the pool of expertise available for advisory projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal and donor reports to communicate progress and funding utilization.
  • Implementing marketing and visibility initiatives to promote the programme and its activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial documentation and reporting as required by EBRD standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, along with strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and conduct thorough financial analyses. The role demands excellent project management and organizational abilities, as well as creative problem-solving skills. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for managing relationships with clients and stakeholders. Candidates should also have strong writing skills, with experience in drafting project proposals and reports being highly desirable. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and fluency in the local language is also required. Additionally, candidates should be computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding financial principles, business operations, and economic strategies that are crucial for advising SMEs effectively.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have relevant professional experience, preferably in commercial management consultancy, development institutions, or financial institutions such as banks. Experience in EBRD’s strategic SME priority areas, including green economy, economic inclusion, and digitalization, is highly valued. Familiarity with the local business environment and consultancy market is essential, as is knowledge of relevant stakeholders and SME business associations.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in the local language of operations is essential to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
