Job Overview:
The Programme Policy Officer position at WFP Iraq is crucial for implementing climate-resilient interventions in targeted governorates. The officer will work under the supervision of the SO2 Outcome Manager, focusing on enhancing the resilience of livelihoods and improving food systems as outlined in the upcoming 2026-2029 Country Strategic Plan (CSP). The role involves providing technical support on ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) interventions, enhancing national institutional capacity for climate information services, and strengthening anticipatory action systems informed by climate and hazard data. The officer will also engage with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to mobilize financing for climate resilience investments. This position requires a proactive approach to support vulnerable communities and ensure that WFP's interventions align with national priorities and sustainable development goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Policy Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: developing and operationalizing anticipatory action frameworks, translating climate and hydrological data into actionable information for project planning, integrating Early Warning for All (EW4ALL) pillars into operational programming, and providing technical support for the design and implementation of EbA interventions. The officer will also support the development of theories of change and resilience metrics for EbA investments, engage with government and research counterparts on climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction, and manage projects while ensuring adherence to WFP standards. Additionally, the officer will contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts, prepare narratives on program activities, and facilitate connections between beneficiaries and private sector opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a First Level (Bachelor) or Advanced University Degree (Master) in fields such as Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or Social Sciences. The position requires a strong understanding of climate resilience and food security issues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government institutions and community organizations. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to WFP's mission and values, and possess the skills necessary to navigate complex challenges in humanitarian contexts.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant fields such as Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Environmental Engineering, or related disciplines. Experience:
