Job Overview:
The Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Bangladesh Country Office (BCO) and project teams by integrating monitoring and reporting into program and project formulation. This position involves tracking progress against the Strategic Plan targets and project targets, as well as reporting results to both internal and external stakeholders. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, and UN agencies, to ensure that gender mainstreaming is effectively incorporated into policies, plans, and budgets. The role requires a strong understanding of Results Based Management (RBM) and the ability to synthesize performance data to produce analytical reports. The analyst will also contribute to knowledge building and capacity development within the organization, promoting awareness of monitoring and evaluation responsibilities among staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and substantively contribute to the incorporation of monitoring and reporting into programme formulation by developing monitoring indicators, calendars, and quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of results against country/regional level targets and UN Women Strategic Plan by coordinating data collection and analysis from field visits.
  • Facilitate the reporting of results to internal and external audiences, including drafting donor and programme reports and reviewing progress reports submitted by partners.
  • Provide technical support to the BCO in implementing the UN Women Evaluation Policy, ensuring communication between the BCO and Regional Office regarding evaluations.
  • Contribute to knowledge building and capacity development by identifying good practices and facilitating training opportunities for staff and partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of programme formulation, implementation, and Results Based Management. They should have good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, including evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. The candidate must demonstrate analytical and report writing skills, as well as the ability to synthesize program performance data effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically a Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, gender studies, or a related field. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree combined with extensive relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring and evaluation, programme management, or related fields. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable, as is experience in gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset, as it can facilitate communication with local stakeholders and partners.
