Job Overview:
As the Health Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation and supervision of all health-related activities within the project. This position requires effective management of both human and financial resources allocated to health initiatives. You will ensure that health programs are executed with high quality, adhering to PUI's health policy and intervention framework, while also integrating protection principles into all activities. Your responsibilities will include supervising the health team, ensuring compliance with logistical and administrative procedures, representing PUI in interactions with partners and local authorities, and contributing to the development of new interventions based on identified needs. The role presents unique challenges, including working with a newly established team in a complex security environment and navigating potential delays with work visas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure qualitative implementation and monitoring of health programs, adhering to PUI’s health policy and intervention framework.
  • Supervise the Health Team, which includes PUI salaried employees and potentially daily paid workers.
  • Ensure compliance of health activities with logistical and administrative procedures.
  • Represent PUI before partners, authorities, and local actors involved in health program implementation.
  • Contribute to safety efforts by ensuring compliance with safety rules and reporting safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Participate in the development of new interventions based on identified needs and challenges.
  • Manage human and financial resources dedicated to health activities effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, encouraging professional development and adherence to PUI's values and mission.

Required Qualifications:
  • A higher health degree (medical doctor, nurse, pharmacist, midwife, public health professional) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a health professional, preferably with previous work experience in NGOs and international settings.
  • Experience working with Première Urgence Internationale is considered a significant asset.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to write effectively and understand institutional donor procedures (e.g., OFDA, ECHO, AAP, UN agencies).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and show a sense of responsibility.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, brainstorming, and management skills.
  • Diplomatic and open-minded approach, with the ability to withstand pressure.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a higher health degree, which can include qualifications such as a medical doctor, nurse, pharmacist, midwife, or public health professional. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of health interventions and managing health programs effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the health sector, particularly in roles related to health program management. Experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and in international contexts is highly valued. Previous experience with Première Urgence Internationale is considered a strong advantage, as it indicates familiarity with the organization's mission and operational framework.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with international partners. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a significant asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.

  • The monthly gross income ranges from 2,190 to 2,420 EUR, depending on the candidate's experience in international solidarity, with an additional 50 EUR per semester for seniority with PUI. The organization provides comprehensive insurance, including medical coverage and assistance, housing in collective accommodation, daily living expenses (per diem), and a generous leave policy that includes 5 weeks of paid leave per year and a return ticket every 6 months.
