Project Objective:
The Accountability and Research Team (ART) activity will increase the USAID/Middle East Bureau’s (MEB) understanding of the outputs, progress, challenges, successes, and lessons learned per the bureau’s activities in Syria. The ART activity, led by Proximity International with Social Impact, will:
Establish a third-party monitoring (TPM) system to independently monitor, verify, and analyze the results of activities in Syria funded by USAID/MEB
Provide high quality research and analysis services to inform USAID/MEB strategy
Strengthen the capacity of USAID/MEB and implementing partners’ staff to improve performance monitoring and data analysis.
Social Impact will take a leading role in the Program Support Services component, providing short and/or long-term technical assistance at the Mission-level as associated with the monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) support services required. SI will also take a leading role in the Collaborative Learning and Adapting (CLA) component of the program and will manage CLA across the USAID Syria ART platform. SI will also provide STTA to support the Evaluation and M&E capacity building components.
Position Description:
Social Impact is developing a roster of short-term consultants to support the delivery of various technical training workshops focusing on MEL and CLA topics for USAID and IP Staff under the Syria ART project. This position will be short-term and will be contracted to deliver select training workshops.
For our upcoming trainings taking place between July and September 2021, we are looking for short-term consultants with expertise in the following areas and topics:
ADS 201 IP reporting requirements, including USAID MEL rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
M&E design and planning, including MEL system design and architecture, roles and responsibilities, and planning in the COVID-19 context.
Consultants with experience training on all other MEL/CLA topics are highly encouraged to apply as well.
Responsibilities:
Conduct MEL capacity building workshops for IP and USAID Staff.
Review and update training materials to focus on relevant training topics.
Ensure that each session includes a pre- and post-tests.
Offer suggestions on improving trainings, particularly given a virtual delivery (pre-recorded modules, workbooks, participant phone calls).
Qualifications:
Master's degree with six years or a bachelor's degree with eight years of experience acting as a facilitator, trainer, or training designer.
Strong knowledge of USAID MEL and CLA policies, practice, and protocols, including the ADS 201.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and train large groups, culturally diverse groups, and groups of senior-level executives as well as experience with innovative training, facilitation approaches and training designer.
Fluent in spoken and written English language, Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position will require working during Amman, Jordan, local time.
