Job Overview:
The Compliance Coordinator position is a temporary, full-time role within the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team at Relief International. This role is crucial for supporting the organization's compliance function and ensuring that robust systems are in place for incident management, ethics reporting, and risk management. The Compliance Coordinator will work closely with the Global Investigations Director and various departments, including Human Resources, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security, and senior leadership teams, to enhance accountability and manage incidents effectively across global operations. The position involves coordinating incident management processes, compliance monitoring, reporting, policy support, and data analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining incident management systems, tracking investigation recommendations, supporting policy implementation, and producing high-quality reports that inform decision-making at both management and board levels. The role requires a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to ethics and humanitarian principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Compliance Coordinator will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Coordinating and maintaining Relief International's incident management system, ensuring that all incidents are accurately logged, triaged, documented, and managed in accordance with established policy requirements.
  • Supporting global and country-level incident management processes by collaborating with Incident Management Teams and technical case leads to promote timely resolution of cases.
  • Tracking and monitoring the implementation of recommendations arising from investigations and supporting follow-up activities across the organization.
  • Contributing to a culture of accountability by promoting ethical incident reporting and strengthening internal systems and processes.
  • Producing reports and analyses on incident management trends for senior leadership, governance bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with donor, regulatory, and organizational reporting obligations related to ethics, safeguarding, and security incidents.
  • Assisting with the development, updates, and implementation of policies across the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance function.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources, Safety & Security, Country Offices, and other departments to enhance ethical incident management and organizational compliance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Compliance Coordinator position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Experience working in compliance, incident management, whistleblowing, investigations support, governance, risk management, or a related function.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Experience supporting case management processes or working within incident management systems, including triage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and confidence in working with data, reporting tools, and information management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Navex Ethicspoint is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Understanding of governance, accountability, ethics, or compliance principles within international organizations is highly desirable. Previous experience in the humanitarian or development sector is advantageous, as are Arabic or French language skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Compliance Coordinator position includes a relevant degree in fields such as law, international relations, public administration, or a related discipline. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in compliance, ethics, or risk management will be viewed favorably. Experience:

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Candidates who possess additional language skills, particularly in Arabic or French, will have a competitive advantage, as these languages are beneficial for communication within diverse teams and with stakeholders in various regions where Relief International operates.

Additional Notes:
This is a temporary, full-time position with a duration of 3 months, specifically designed for candidates based in the UK. The role offers a salary of approximately £36,000 per annum. As a remote position, it allows for flexibility in work arrangements.
