Job Overview:
The TVET Instructor for Graphic Design will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of vocational education and training programs. The instructor will be responsible for developing learning programs and curricula tailored to the needs of Palestine refugees, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the labor market. This position involves facilitating both school-based and work-based learning experiences, which includes preparing training venues, selecting trainees, and employing adult learning strategies. The instructor will also be tasked with designing assessments to evaluate student performance and integrating career guidance into the training programs. Collaboration with employers and other instructors is essential to ensure that the training provided aligns with labor market demands and incorporates quality assurance measures. The instructor will also support initiatives aimed at greening and digitalizing the training programs, ensuring that students are prepared for the evolving job market.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and development of learning programs and curricula, including conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating new technologies into the curriculum.
  • Facilitate the delivery of school-based and work-based learning programs, including preparing training venues, selecting trainees, and managing learning environments.
  • Design and implement student assessments, including formative and summative assessments, and develop inclusive assessment plans.
  • Build linkages with employers and TVET instructors, utilizing labor market information to inform training courses and conducting skills needs assessments.
  • Apply quality assurance tools throughout the training cycle according to UNRWA's TVET Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Support greening and digitalization initiatives by designing and implementing relevant training programs.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to maintain a respectful and organized learning environment and implement Occupational Health and Safety measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal of the Training Centre.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree of four years from an accredited institution in Fine Arts with a major specialization in Visual Communication. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the UN core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity. Functional competencies such as following instructions, networking, creating and innovating, applying technical expertise, and planning and organizing are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A four-year university degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Visual Communication is required. This educational background is crucial for understanding the principles of graphic design and effectively teaching these concepts to students.

Experience:
No prior work experience is required for this position. However, candidates should indicate any involvement in outside activities, such as teaching, public speaking, or volunteer work, as this may be considered during the evaluation process. The agency values diverse experiences that contribute to the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Arabic is required for this position, with a minimum level of proficiency as defined by the UN Language Framework. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a daily paid assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The daily rate is set at 29.17 USD, and candidates will receive one day of annual leave and one day of sick leave for each completed month of service. The vacancy is open to both internal and external candidates, but only those residing in Syria and authorized to work in the duty station are eligible to apply. UNRWA will not facilitate work permits, and candidates must have a valid permit at the time of application. Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates from underrepresented genders to promote gender parity.
