Job Overview: The position of Casual Worker (Assisting in MEAL Works) involves supporting the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for programming in the North Area office of DRC. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection in the field, assisting with data entry and cleaning, and ensuring compliance with DRC's accountability principles. This role requires regular coordination with the PDQ department and other management and program departments to prioritize data collection work plans. The casual worker will also contribute to raising awareness of DRC's Community Feedback Mechanism during data collection activities. The position is crucial for ensuring that DRC's programs are effectively monitored and evaluated, ultimately contributing to the organization's mission of supporting displaced individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Casual Worker include:
Conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection activities in the field for needs assessments and monitoring across DRC's areas of operations in the North (Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Idleb).
Supporting data entry using tools such as KOBO and ODK, as well as data cleaning and archiving.
Coordinating regularly with the PDQ department in the Country Office and management and program departments in the North Area Office regarding data collection work plans and priorities.
Ensuring that all activities and services comply with DRC's accountability principles.
Raising awareness of DRC's Community Feedback Mechanism during data collection.
Performing other MEAL duties as requested by the Area Manager or PDQM.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in data collection and cleaning.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt work practices and hours, particularly in insecure environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email communication.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment.
Self-motivated and results-oriented approach to work.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university or technical institute degree in fields such as Economics, Administration, Business Management, Finance, International Relations, Development Studies, Computer Science, or any other relevant degree, complemented by years of relevant experience in the field.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data collection and cleaning, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a challenging environment and adapt to changing circumstances. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing data-related tasks and responsibilities.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic, both written and spoken, is essential for this position. Basic proficiency in English is preferred, allowing for effective communication within the organization and with stakeholders.
