Job Overview:
The ICT Assistant position is crucial for providing daily operational and technical support for information and communication technology services within the office. The role involves maintaining the reliability of the ICT network, providing hardware support, and offering helpdesk services to users. The assistant will also support data analysis initiatives, inventory management, and knowledge-sharing practices to facilitate informed decision-making within the team. The position requires adherence to established policies and procedures set by UNODC, ensuring the continuity and quality of ICT services through routine technical checks and user requests. The assistant will collaborate with HQ ICT personnel and participate in regular meetings to exchange information and receive technical guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Assistant will be responsible for providing first-level ICT support via phone and remote tools for all office users, utilizing helpdesk tools to track and manage requests. Responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting local networks and communication devices in coordination with HQ and regional offices. The assistant will also support backup planning and monitoring for all internal servers and storage systems, assist in developing and implementing local disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and ensure compliance with UN standards for ICT procurement. Additional duties include maintaining documentation, responding to user inquiries, monitoring technical performance, assisting with inventory management, and collaborating with HQ personnel on ICT matters. The assistant will also contribute to process improvement initiatives and participate in training related to data science and analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience in information technology or related fields, or a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Networks, Network Administration, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline with no prior experience. Professional certification in IT, such as ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or cybersecurity, is desirable, along with training or certification in data analysis, data management, or information systems.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent with significant relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field. Candidates with professional certifications in recognized IT disciplines are preferred, and additional training in data analysis or management is advantageous.

Experience:
Relevant experience in providing operational support in information technology and/or telecommunications systems is mandatory, preferably in an international environment. Candidates should have experience in first-level technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, as well as proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools. Experience in maintaining records and documentation related to ICT services is also required, along with knowledge of network environments and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security practices. Desirable experience includes working in multicultural settings or with UN organizations, supporting ICT operations in development or humanitarian contexts, and familiarity with ERP systems or web-based management systems.

Fluency in Portuguese and English is required, while basic proficiency in Spanish is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills in both required languages to fulfill the role's responsibilities.
