Job Overview: The National ProgrammeAnalyst – Thailand (Consultant) will play a crucial role in the coordination and implementation of the WE RISE Together project under the Mekong-Australia Partnership. This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and private sector partners, to ensure the effective execution of the program aimed at enhancing women's economic empowerment in Thailand. The analyst will be responsible for developing program strategies, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with UN Women’s strategic priorities. The role requires a strong focus on partnership building and the ability to translate project priorities into actionable interventions at the national level. The analyst will also contribute to the development of program documents, work plans, and reports, ensuring that the program's objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: The National Programme Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:
Contributing to the development of program strategies related to Women’s Economic Empowerment under the Mekong-Australia Partnership.
Providing substantive inputs to the design and formulation of program/project proposals.
Analyzing the country context to identify opportunities and partners for project implementation.
Establishing and overseeing partnerships with private and public sector actors.
Developing and implementing annual work plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Contributing to advocacy and communication strategies to promote the program and its objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, economics, human rights, gender, development, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a solid understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment principles.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as public administration, law, economics, human rights, gender studies, development, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification would be beneficial for candidates.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building. Experience in promoting gender equality and social development is desirable, as is experience in women's economic empowerment. Familiarity with the UN system and previous experience in the development sector are considered advantageous. Candidates should also have experience in using office software and web-based management systems, as well as applying Results-based Management principles in program planning and implementation.
Languages: Fluency in both Thai and English is mandatory, with excellent written and communication skills. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.
