Job Overview:
The Regional Programme Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the UN Joint Programme on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and other related initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders, including UNFPA and UN Women country offices. The officer will be responsible for ensuring that the programme aligns with approved work plans and donor agreements, while also facilitating joint implementation of activities with partners. The role requires a strong focus on results-based monitoring, knowledge management, and partnership engagement to effectively address the issue of violence against women in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Programme Implementation and Coordination: Support the implementation of the Joint Programme and related GBV prevention initiatives, ensuring alignment with work plans and donor agreements. Facilitate coordination with UNFPA, UN agencies, and implementing partners to ensure effective joint activities. Organize regional meetings and consultations related to GBV prevention.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Conduct results-based monitoring of programme implementation, tracking progress against indicators. Compile and analyze inputs from country offices for reporting purposes. Draft narrative progress reports and presentations for various audiences.
• Knowledge Management, Evidence, and Learning: Develop and review knowledge products related to GBV prevention, ensuring quality and dissemination of evidence and learning activities.
• Partnerships and Advocacy Support: Engage with UN entities, civil society organizations, and research institutions to strengthen partnerships. Prepare advocacy and communication materials to support visibility and outreach efforts.
• Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in social work, social science, public health, international development, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, gender studies, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting related to ending violence against women and girls or gender-based violence. Experience in the Southeast Asia region and in international settings is advantageous. Strong writing skills and experience in maintaining partnerships are also required.

Educational Background:
A Master's Degree in relevant fields such as social work, social science, public health, international development, international law, or gender studies is required. A first-level university degree may be accepted with additional qualifying experience.

Experience:
At least 5 years of professional experience is required, specifically in programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting related to gender-based violence. Experience in the Southeast Asia region and in international settings is preferred, along with a background in writing concept notes and donor reporting.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with strong writing and communication skills required. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.

The position is part-time, requiring 80% of full-time hours (4 out of 5 days per week). The consultant will be office-based in Bangkok, Thailand, and UN Women will cover travel costs for candidates not based at the duty station. Official travel may be required, managed according to UN Women travel policy.
