Job Overview:
The Head of the CFO Strategy and Coordination Office is a pivotal role within the Directorate of Controlling, Finance and Operational Procurement at ESA. This position is responsible for supporting the Director in strategic coordination and effective management of the Directorate, with a focus on process review, simplification, and digitalization. The role requires a strong emphasis on ensuring coherent communication and consistent messaging within the CFO Directorate. The Head of Office will oversee the implementation of integrated processes and provide reliable analytics to enable effective decision-making and enhance overall Directorate performance. This includes defining and implementing end-to-end processes aimed at improving efficiency and data integrity in project procurement and implementation. The position also involves close collaboration with other departments and acting as the main point of contact for the Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO).

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Head of the CFO Strategy and Coordination Office include managing and coordinating internal and external communication activities for the CFO Directorate, preparing key documents and briefings for meetings, and providing policy and strategy support to the Director. The role also involves leading a Directorate-wide approach to implementing efficiency measures, providing data and KPIs for management solutions, and ensuring an integrated review of the Directorate’s processes. The Head of Office will manage modernization initiatives, coordinate digital transformation efforts, and oversee the Directorate’s data analytics provision. Additionally, the role includes developing and motivating team members, ensuring the implementation of the ESA security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security framework, and identifying and managing health and safety risks within the Directorate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and experience in organizational transformation, end-to-end process improvement, and change management. Knowledge of business analysis, digital tools, and reporting is essential, along with familiarity with the ESA regulatory framework and processes. Experience in managing multiple interfaces with various stakeholders and knowledge of SAP-based ERP systems are also required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the European space industry and the ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts. Excellent leadership, relationship management, and communication skills are crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
A master’s degree in a relevant domain is required for this position. This educational background should be complemented by substantial professional experience in related fields, demonstrating a strong foundation in finance, operational procurement, or strategic management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, with proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing teams. Candidates should have a track record of providing strategic direction and making high-standard, solution-oriented decisions. Experience in diverse functional areas relevant to ESA activities and international experience is considered an asset, particularly if it includes work outside the candidate's home country.

Languages:
The working languages of ESA are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these languages is mandatory, while knowledge of another Member State language would be considered an asset. This linguistic proficiency is essential for effective communication within the agency and with external stakeholders.

This position is a four-year appointment, extendable to indefinite, and is classified under the Grade Band A
