The multi-country mission Tchad-Cameroun-Centrafrique (TCA) has 10 operational bases, including a coordination office in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and various bases in Chad and CAR. Job Overview: The position of Responsable de département Eau, Assainissement et Hygiène (EAH) involves overseeing the development of WASH programs within Solidarités International, closely collaborating with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director or Deputy Country Director for Programs of the TCA mission. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring the relevance, quality, and coherence of the programs while contributing to the adherence of implementation teams to project cycles and monitoring processes. The role also includes supervising internal and external coordination and contributing to SI's capitalisation processes in the WASH sector. The opportunity to work across three countries allows for addressing different crisis contexts and creating synergies between programs, such as water point management, sanitation infrastructure, epidemic prevention and response, and community engagement for public health promotion. Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities of the Responsable de département EAH include:
Developing and implementing WASH programs in alignment with SI's strategic objectives.
Ensuring the technical quality and relevance of WASH interventions across the TCA mission.
Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective program delivery.
Monitoring and evaluating program implementation and outcomes, ensuring adherence to project cycles.
Contributing to the development of new project proposals and strategies for future funding opportunities.
Managing and supervising project staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Capacity to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master's degree (bac + 5) in a relevant field such as humanitarian project management, international relations, or public policy. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and effectively managing projects in challenging environments.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3-4 years in a similar role focused on WASH or related fields. This experience should include program management, strategic planning, and coordination with various stakeholders in complex operational contexts.
Languages: Fluency in French and English is mandatory for this position, as both languages are essential for communication within the organization and with external partners. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a plus, as it may enhance communication in certain operational areas.
Additional Notes: The position is a salaried role with a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 2860, which includes a base salary of EUR 2600 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of EUR 600 is provided. SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. The working conditions include a system of alternating work and leave, with 7 working days off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, as well as repatriation. Vaccination and malaria treatment costs are reimbursed. Living conditions in Yaoundé are described as pleasant, with access to various restaurants, bars, and cultural or sports activities.
