Job Overview: The Grant and Partnership Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality and compliant programming among NRC partners in Cameroon. The officer will be responsible for building sustainable partnerships, monitoring sub-awardee activities for compliance with NRC’s guidelines, and providing essential grant management support. The role is vital for delivering quality programs aligned with NRC's Country Office strategy and Plan of Action, ensuring that partnerships are established and maintained in accordance with NRC’s global policies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grant and Partnership Officer will have a range of responsibilities, including contributing to the development and implementation of NRC’s country strategy on partnership, supporting the partner selection process, and developing concept notes and donor proposals. Specific duties include ensuring compliance with NRC partnership policies, mapping potential partners, providing capacity support to partners, developing Partnership Agreements, and coordinating proposal development processes. The officer will also review partners' contractual reports, organize review meetings, monitor compliance and programmatic plans, and lead NRC's monitoring of partners through scheduled checks and evaluations. Additionally, the officer will attend partnership-related meetings and collaborate with relevant working groups, ensuring effective communication and feedback to management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a college or university degree in a relevant field, with a preference for degrees in management, administration, marketing, or related areas. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in contract management and partnership development, is required. Candidates should have experience working with humanitarian and development donors, a good understanding of donor rules and regulations, and skills in report and proposal writing. Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a college or university degree in a relevant field. A degree in management, administration, marketing, or a related discipline is desired, indicating a strong foundation in the skills necessary for effective partnership management and grant oversight.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in contract management and partnership development. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing projects and partnerships within the humanitarian context, demonstrating their ability to navigate the complexities of donor relationships and compliance requirements.
Languages: Fluency in both written and spoken English and French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with partners, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring that all documentation and reports are accurately prepared and understood.
Additional Notes: The position offers a 6-month work contract that is renewable based on the availability of funds. The workplace is located in Yaoundé, with an expectation of 25% travel in the field. The salary and benefits are based on Grade 5 step 1 of the NRC Cameroon salary scale.
