Job Overview:
The UN Partnerships Officer will be stationed in the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Tunis, Tunisia, and will report directly to the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office. This role is pivotal in promoting partnerships that support financing for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The officer will work closely with the economist and finance experts within the UN Country Team to identify and advise on partnership opportunities that align with national development priorities. The position requires the preparation of briefing papers and strategies to address financing gaps, as well as the promotion of innovative financing solutions. The officer will also engage with government counterparts, private sector entities, civil society, and development partners to foster collaboration and enhance the UN's reputation in financing for development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnerships Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Collaborating with the Resident Coordinator Office economist and UN Country Team finance experts to promote partnerships for financing SDGs.
• Identifying partnership opportunities and advising on financing options aligned with national frameworks.
• Preparing briefing papers and strategies to address financing gaps.
• Advocating for improved development finance policies and practices.
• Engaging with government, private sector, and civil society to develop partnerships around SDG financing.
• Designing innovative proposals to enhance UN engagement and resource generation.
• Participating in resource mobilization initiatives and managing pooled funds for the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
• Supporting the establishment and management of the country-based SDG Fund.
• Leading the development and implementation of the UN Partnership Strategy. 1
• Contributing to knowledge management and capacity development related to partnerships and resource mobilization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, sustainable development, finance, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Successful completion of programs in data analytics or business analytics is an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of sustainable development theories and practices, as well as the ability to conduct independent research and analysis.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, sustainable development, finance, or a related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is considered an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in strategic support to financial partnerships, resource mobilization, and development cooperation is required. Candidates should have experience in developing strategic partnerships across government, private sector, and civil society organizations, particularly in financing for development. Experience in large-scale resource mobilization strategies and managing funds is essential. Familiarity with applied partnerships in areas such as food systems, digital transformation, and climate action is desirable. Experience in preparing project proposals and leveraging innovative financing mechanisms is also beneficial.

Languages:
The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French, both of which are required for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is also required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for each of these languages according to the UN Language Framework.

Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term position with an initial appointment period of one year, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval. The position is open to nationals of Tunisia, and candidates must be recruited within the country or commuting distance of the office.
