Job Overview: The UN Information Systems Officer position is situated within the Office of Information and Communications Technology, specifically in the Enterprise Solutions Service, Enterprise Application Center - Asia, located in Valencia, Spain. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Information Systems Officer and will be responsible for managing projects that involve feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, and implementation of moderately complex systems. The role requires participation in development teams, contributing to major components of complex systems, and developing detailed system specifications and user documentation. The officer will provide specialized advice to users, analyze their requirements, and translate these into new applications while ensuring integration and linkage of application systems. The position also involves maintaining and enhancing existing user systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing ongoing user support. The officer will develop and maintain computer programs that require integration of multiple systems, ensuring data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and access controls. Additionally, the role includes organizing unit and integrated testing, developing training materials, and researching new technologies for potential deployment. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the UN Information Systems Officer include:
Managing projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, and implementation of new systems.

Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the UN Information Systems Officer position include:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, architecture, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer information systems.
Hands-on experience with architecturing and developing Knowledge Management solutions using SharePoint and SharePoint Online and SPFX for at least five years.
At least four years of hands-on experience in Power Automate and Azure Logic App.
A minimum of three years of experience managing an IT software development team.
Desirable experience includes familiarity with Machine Learning and RAG, as well as two or more years in data analytics or related areas.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the UN Information Systems Officer position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline. Candidates with a first-level university degree may be considered if they possess two additional years of qualifying experience, demonstrating the flexibility in educational requirements based on practical experience.
Experience: Candidates for the UN Information Systems Officer position must have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, architecture, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer information systems.
