Job Overview:
The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the World Bank Group is designed for exceptional individuals who are eager to contribute to solving some of the most pressing development challenges faced globally. This program is highly competitive and seeks candidates who demonstrate strong leadership potential, exceptional technical skills, and a commitment to the WBG's mission of creating a world free of poverty. As a Young Professional, you will engage in a structured two-year program that includes three eight-month rotations across various sectors and institutions within the WBG, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). This unique opportunity allows you to deepen your technical and operational knowledge while gaining experience in different areas of the institution. The YP Academy provides a comprehensive learning and development journey, including training in technical and operational skills, language programs, negotiation and business skills, and leadership development. You will also receive individual coaching and mentorship, which are crucial for your professional growth and development as a future leader in global development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Young Professional in the Tourism, Retail and Property (TRP) sector, you will be responsible for managing and driving special initiatives under the guidance of the TRP Global Sector Manager and Global Sector Leads. Your duties will include supporting the development and implementation of sector strategies to ensure profitable and sustainable growth for the portfolio. You will be tasked with updating and operationalizing the TRP Playbook, creating impactful business development materials such as pitchbooks and presentations, and collaborating with Industry Specialists and Investment Officers throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will support portfolio monitoring, extract best practices, and participate in the development of advisory and value-added sector products. Your role will also involve developing sector knowledge deliverables, facilitating knowledge flow across the IFC, and promoting the adoption of new approaches and best practices for TRP.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in finance and/or economics, with accounting knowledge being a plus. Candidates should have 2-6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in investment or corporate banking or financial consulting. A basic understanding of key assessment aspects for investment transactions is essential, along with the ability to analyze financial models, financial statements, and equity valuations. Candidates must demonstrate strong data analysis and synthesis skills, be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and have the ability to prepare impactful documents and presentations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds are also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. A background in accounting is considered an advantage. The educational qualifications should provide a solid foundation in financial analysis, economic principles, and investment strategies, which are crucial for the responsibilities associated with the Young Professional position.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in investment or corporate banking, financial consulting, or related fields where candidates have developed a strong understanding of financial transactions and investment analysis. Candidates should be comfortable navigating databases and have experience in data analysis and synthesis, which are critical for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage, as it enhances communication with diverse stakeholders and clients across different regions.
