The intern will work under the supervision of the Programme Analyst and will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the overall goals of the organization. The intern will gain valuable experience in data collection, event organization, communication, and outreach, while also developing a deeper understanding of gender equality and women's economic empowerment in Thailand. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Data Collection and Information Management: Systematically collect, consolidate, and manage program data related to activities, participants, partners, and outputs. Maintain and update contact lists, participant databases, and event trackers. Compile information from workshops and meetings to support program follow-up. Prepare summaries, contact matrices, and reference materials for planning and stakeholder engagement. Document and file training materials, presentations, and reports.
Event Organization and Logistics Support: Assist in planning and coordinating WRT activities, including the 2026 Thailand WEPs Awards and national consultations. Draft invitation letters, manage participant registration, and coordinate logistics for events. Document meetings and events through note-taking and prepare post-event summaries.
Translation and Document Support: Provide translation support for documents and materials between Thai and English. Proofread and check translated materials for clarity and consistency. Organize bilingual files and ensure proper document naming.
Communication and Outreach Support: Assist in communication with partners and stakeholders related to program activities. Draft outreach emails, announcements, and social media content. Compile background information and key messages for outreach activities. Document key highlights and success stories for internal and external communication.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess excellent communication skills in both English and Thai, with a strong ability to draft and format various communication materials. They should have a solid understanding of gender issues and women's economic empowerment. Organizational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Candidates should also demonstrate strong research, writing, and critical analysis skills, as well as the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: Applicants should be pursuing university studies in disciplines such as gender studies, development studies, international affairs, economics, business administration, or supply chain management. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, be enrolled in a mandatory national service program, or have recently graduated with a relevant degree and be starting the internship within two years of graduation.
Experience: The internship is suitable for candidates with varying levels of experience, including those who are currently enrolled in university programs or have recently graduated. Previous experience in program implementation, data management, or event organization is advantageous but not mandatory. The role is designed to provide practical experience and enhance the intern's understanding of UN Women’s work and the UN system in Thailand.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Thai is mandatory for this position, as the intern will be required to communicate effectively in both languages. Working knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's application.
Additional Notes: The internship is unpaid, but interns who do not receive financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UN Women to help cover basic living costs during the internship.
