Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Country Office (CO). This position involves contributing to the design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of programmes. The Programme Assistant will work closely with the programme and operations teams, UN Women HQ staff, government officials, donors, and civil society to ensure successful programme implementation. The role requires monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring the appropriate application of systems and procedures. The Programme Assistant will also provide logistical support for meetings, workshops, and events, as well as assist in resource mobilization and knowledge sharing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: providing administrative support to the financial management of the Programme Unit, creating projects in Quantum and PRISM, preparing budget revisions, and processing payments for consultants. They will also undertake logistical arrangements for meetings and events, make travel arrangements for the Programme Team, draft meeting minutes, and organize filing of documents. Additionally, the Programme Assistant will support resource mobilization by compiling documentation from donors and assisting in the overall resources mobilization strategy. They will facilitate knowledge building by organizing training for staff and partners, supporting the development of background documents, and documenting best practices. Furthermore, the Programme Assistant will provide programmatic support in preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, and assist in the audit of programmes/projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of programme management and the ability to execute administrative processes effectively. They should have excellent skills in creating, editing, and presenting information in clear formats, as well as managing data and correspondence. Strong IT skills are essential, and familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, is desirable. The candidate should also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity, along with effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required, while a university degree in social sciences, political science, international studies, public administration, economics, law, or a related field is considered an asset. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or programme management/support. Experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required, and experience in supporting a team is desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, is a plus, as it will aid in the execution of administrative tasks and project management.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
