Job Overview:
The position of Driver G2 is integral to the ILO's Rural Access and Agriculture Marketing Project (RAAMP) in Nigeria. The driver will be responsible for providing logistical support to the project team, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for official purposes. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the organization's vehicles and adhering to ILO policies and procedures. The driver will report directly to the Chief Technical Advisor and will work closely with various administrative and operational staff to facilitate the smooth functioning of the office. The position is fixed-term for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The driver will play a crucial role in supporting the project's objectives by ensuring that all transportation needs are met promptly and safely, contributing to the overall success of the ILO's initiatives in Nigeria.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The driver will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: driving office vehicles for official purposes, meeting official personnel at the airport, and facilitating immigration and customs formalities. The driver will also be responsible for collecting and delivering mail, documents, and other items as needed. Daily maintenance of the assigned vehicle is crucial, which includes checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and performing minor repairs. The driver must keep accurate records of vehicle use, including daily mileage, gas consumption, and service history. In the event of an accident, the driver must follow the necessary procedures as outlined by ILO regulations. Additionally, the driver will stay informed about the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security situation and risks, providing updates to the office as necessary. Other miscellaneous office support functions may include messenger services and photocopying, along with any other duties assigned by the supervisor or Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have a strong understanding of driving rules and regulations. Knowledge and skills in minor vehicle repairs are essential. The ideal candidate will have a secondary education and demonstrate a high level of driving competence, including the ability to maintain accurate vehicle records and drive safely in local traffic conditions. The ILO seeks individuals who can follow instructions carefully and undertake minor vehicle repairs as needed. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift heavy mailbags and boxes and work in a polite and cooperative manner with colleagues and clients.

Educational Background:
A secondary education is required for this position, along with a valid driver's license. Candidates should have a solid understanding of driving regulations and possess skills in minor vehicle repairs to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver is required, with a proven safe driving record. Languages:
Candidates must have a good knowledge of a Nigerian local language and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
