Job Overview:
The Fundraising Specialist for the Ocean Program will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at mobilizing resources to finance the programmatic plan of action focused on ocean-climate initiatives, blue food, and the blue economy. This position requires the individual to work closely with the WRI Development team to upscale existing projects and identify new funding opportunities. The role is hybrid, requiring 8 days per month in the office, and involves significant collaboration with various stakeholders, including government counterparts and private sector partners. The specialist will be responsible for integrating equity into their work and contributing to WRI's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Fundraising Specialist include:

• Fundraising and proposal development (80%): - Identifying and mapping funding landscapes for Ocean Action initiatives, including blue carbon, ocean climate, blue food, and blue economy. - Developing recommendations on fundraising strategies and approaches for the Ocean Program, focusing on resource mobilization priorities and scaling existing initiatives. - Providing fundraising advisory and coordination support in collaboration with the Development team. - Identifying potential upscale opportunities for projects like Climate Smart Shrimp Aquaculture and Ocean Calculator. - Collecting and analyzing information relevant to Ocean program priorities in coordination with Knowledge Management and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). - Advising on specific topics for project development aligned with WRI Indonesia's Country Strategy. - Conducting pre-due diligence of potential partners for project proposal development. - Leading the co-creation of project proposals with internal and external stakeholders, including preparing project Theory of Change and logical frameworks. - Drafting and finalizing proposals and pitch decks that align with donor interests. - Conducting self-research and desk studies related to fundraising activities.
• Project Management and Engagement (20%): - Facilitating stakeholder engagement related to fundraising activities, including government, private sector, and development partners. - Supporting the communication team in developing content for fundraising activities. - Contributing as a resource person in relevant stakeholder forums.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Fundraising Specialist position include: - A Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, international development, environmental management, sustainable development, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. - A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, particularly in non-profit or start-up environments. - Experience in developing fundraising strategies and identifying resource mobilization opportunities. - Proven ability to create high-quality concept notes, project proposals, and donor-facing materials. - Strong understanding of donor priorities, funding mechanisms, and partnership models. - Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. - Familiarity with project Theory of Change, Logical Framework, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, business administration, finance, international development, environmental management, or sustainable development. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in fundraising and environmental management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, particularly through both solicited and non-solicited mechanisms. Candidates should have a proven track record of engaging in environmental projects and developing fundraising strategies that align with donor interests and organizational goals. Experience in creating compelling proposals and understanding the intricacies of donor funding mechanisms is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory, with excellent communication and presentation skills necessary to effectively convey the organization's mission and impact to diverse audiences. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
