IOM Indonesia engages in multiple thematic areas, including Counter-Trafficking, Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion, Disasters, Climate and Resilience, Immigration and Border Governance, Refugee Care, Migration Health, Migration Policy and Data Hub, and Resettlement and Voluntary Returns. The organization aims to build the capacity of stakeholders, develop policies, and ensure the protection of migrants while facilitating safe and fair labour migration.

Job Overview:
The Project Assistant (CTLM) will be stationed in Jakarta and will report directly to the Senior Project Associate (Counter Trafficking & Protection) while also working under the overall supervision of the National Project Officer for Labour Mobility & Social Inclusion. The incumbent will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and monitoring of the Counter Trafficking and Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (CT/LMSI) programs/projects. This position requires close coordination with the project team and involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth execution of project activities. The Project Assistant will be responsible for clerical assistance, organizing project activities such as meetings and workshops, and translating materials between Bahasa Indonesia and English. The role also includes administrative support, data compilation, and assisting in the development of project-related publications and monitoring tools. The Project Assistant will need to respond to general inquiries and maintain organized records, contributing to the overall success of the CT/LMSI initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant include providing general and clerical assistance to support the implementation and organization of CT/LMSI project activities. This includes tasks such as notetaking and reporting on project-related activities, translating project and communication materials between Bahasa Indonesia and English, and assisting with administrative tasks for project implementation. The incumbent will coordinate with various organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, and monitor ongoing processes. Additionally, the Project Assistant will retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics to support project reporting and external communication efforts. Under the guidance of the Senior Project Associate, the incumbent will assist in developing presentations, visibility products, statistical tables, project briefs, info sheets, newsletters, and other publication materials. The role also involves updating project monitoring and evaluation tools, responding to general information requests, and maintaining files and records. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a school diploma with three years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates should have experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Knowledge and understanding of migration, trafficking in persons, and labour mobility issues are essential, along with the ability to manage workload effectively within general schedules and standard practices. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work in a multicultural environment and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a school diploma with three years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields. The educational qualifications must be from an accredited institution recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that the candidate has received a quality education that aligns with the requirements of the position.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant experience if holding a school diploma, or one year of relevant professional experience if holding a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations is considered an advantage. The candidate should also be an Indonesian national with a good understanding of migration, trafficking in persons, and labour mobility issues, demonstrating the ability to manage workload effectively and work harmoniously in a multicultural environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required for this position, both oral and written. All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish). Proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates meet the language requirements necessary for effective communication in the role.
