Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Officer (ODS, CST I) position is based in the Country Office and reports directly to the Head of Logistics. This role is integral to WFP’s On Demand Service Provision, which aims to support humanitarian actors and the UN Integrated Supply Chain Initiatives. The job holder will be responsible for implementing standard On-Demand Service Provision processes and activities, ensuring effective and timely service delivery to clients. The position requires coordination of the Country Office’s ODS activities, managing the end-to-end process from demand assessment to service delivery, and ensuring compliance with WFP rules and regulations. The role also involves managing data systems, providing technical guidance to clients, and supporting operational planning and logistics needs assessment for humanitarian actors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Officer include coordinating the Country Office’s On-Demand Service Provision activities, managing the entire process from demand assessment to service delivery, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with WFP regulations. The officer will manage ODS data systems and trackers, ensuring data quality and accessibility. They will provide technical guidance to clients on accessing WFP’s ODS System and liaise with HQ support teams as necessary. The role also involves monitoring stock movements, improving service data quality, and assisting with budget preparation and monitoring. The officer will maintain accurate records of all documents, undertake monthly reconciliations, assess logistics gaps, and support capacity building for WFP staff and partners. Additionally, they will identify and build productive relationships with logistics colleagues to support integrated food assistance efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be acceptable. The role requires a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relevant field, with experience in analyzing operational contexts, budget monitoring, and project management. Candidates should have experience in logistics functions such as freight-forwarding, warehouse management, and inventory management, as well as experience in client management and building rapport.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Management. A first university degree may be acceptable if accompanied by additional years of relevant work experience and/or training. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of supply chain management and logistics operations within the humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Candidates should have a proven track record of analyzing operational contexts and trends, as well as experience in budget monitoring, reporting, and project management. Experience in logistics operations, including freight-forwarding, warehouse management, and inventory management, is also essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in managing client queries and complaints, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within WFP. Intermediate knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the role in the Palestinian context.
