Job Overview: The Supply Chain and Operations Coordinator in Gaza Strip plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of Relief International by leading efforts to strengthen procurement, asset management, and stock management procedures. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects related to transport, travel, and fleet management, ensuring that movement planning and driver management are executed effectively. The coordinator will support the implementation of internal procedures and systems to guarantee the transparent and accountable use of resources, aligning with both RI's internal policies and donor regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the complexities of the operational environment in Gaza.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Supply Chain and Operations Coordinator will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting procurement activities in compliance with RI and donor regulations, maintaining an updated vendor list, and ensuring proper documentation and archiving of procurement records. The coordinator will also participate in mobilization efforts for new projects and extensions, ensuring that the supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. In terms of transport and fleet management, the coordinator will design and implement standard operating procedures (SoPs) for vehicle management, ensuring that vehicle fleets are managed according to RI standards and that servicing and maintenance schedules are adhered to. The role also involves liaising with various stakeholders, including utility companies and UN agencies, to build and maintain relationships that facilitate operational success. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee facilities management, ensuring that all utilities are functional and that RI premises are maintained in operational condition. Stock management responsibilities include ensuring that stock systems are secure and well-documented, conducting routine physical stock counts, and reporting discrepancies. The coordinator will also manage asset registration and ensure compliance with donor standards for asset disposal. Team management is another critical aspect of this role, which includes planning, task sharing, conflict resolution, and capacity-building for team members. Regular reporting and coordination with program teams will be essential to ensure that ongoing activities are on track and aligned with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Supply Chain and Operations Coordinator position should possess a degree or professional certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Humanitarian Logistics, or a related field. A solid understanding of practical supply chain procedures and the ability to maintain supply pipelines in areas with weak infrastructure is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in training and capacity-building, possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and have proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. The ability to identify potential problems, communicate effectively, and propose solutions to management is crucial.
