Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active undergraduate student for an internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position under the Consultant modality. This internship is part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program, which is a competitive paid opportunity designed for university students from member countries. The program aims to provide participants with insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank, while also offering valuable professional experience through on-the-job learning. The intern will specifically support the Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) in its efforts to combat financial crimes, including money laundering and terrorist financing. The role will involve assisting in the execution of oversight responsibilities related to AML/CFT compliance, with a focus on risk assessments, control testing, compliance monitoring, and data analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will provide both analytical and administrative support to the AML/CFT Compliance Function. Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning and coordination of the 2026-2027 AML/CFT controls testing exercise, maintaining the AML/CFT Risk and Control Matrix (RCM) and related testing inventories, collecting and reviewing control documentation from business units, documenting business processes and controls, and supporting the testing of control design and operating effectiveness under the supervision of AML/CFT compliance staff. The intern will be expected to engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall integrity and compliance efforts of the IDB Group.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active undergraduate students enrolled in a relevant program such as Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Data Analytics, Law, International Relations, or Information Systems and Compliance and Risk from an accredited university. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest. This position is intended for first-time participants in the IDB Group's internship programs, and applicants should not have previously been staff members or contractors for the organization.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be an active undergraduate student in a relevant field of study, such as Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Data Analytics, Law, International Relations, or Information Systems and Compliance and Risk. The educational institution must be accredited, and the candidate's graduation date should fall after the internship period, ensuring that they are still enrolled during the internship.

Experience:
The internship is designed for undergraduate students, so prior professional experience is not a strict requirement. However, familiarity with AML/CFT, sanctions, risk and control testing, audit, or compliance concepts is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and research abilities, as well as the capacity to organize and analyze data sets effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one other Bank language, such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese, is considered a plus. This bilingual capability will enhance the intern's ability to communicate and collaborate within the diverse environment of the IDB Group.
