Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for a paid internship under the Consultant modality as part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This competitive opportunity is designed for university students from member countries to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will engage in on-the-job learning, focusing on analytical, operational, and knowledge management tasks related to care systems and socioeconomic inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves conducting literature reviews, editing technical documents, and supporting knowledge management activities, all aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the Bank's initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for conducting literature reviews and background research to support social sector analytical work and Technical Cooperations. They will review, edit, and proofread knowledge products, technical documents, and analytical reports to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy. Additionally, interns will compile, organize, and edit deliverables such as reports, presentations, and briefs. They will support knowledge management activities by organizing knowledge products and contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives. Furthermore, interns will provide analytical and operational support for the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of Technical Cooperations, which includes compiling, organizing, and synthesizing information and coordinating inputs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and actively enrolled in a graduate program (master’s or Ph.D.) relevant to the role's responsibilities. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Applicants should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest and must be first-time participants in the internship program. Additionally, candidates must submit their resume, academic transcripts, and a university letter certifying their student status when applying. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially but must be followed by official ones if selected for further consideration.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be an active graduate student in fields such as economics, public policy, international development, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines from an accredited university. It is essential that at least 50% of the coursework is completed at the time of application, and the graduation date should be after the internship period.

Experience:
Candidates should possess strong writing and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in development projects and report preparation. The role requires proficiency in data analysis and analytical work related to social sector issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Interns should be detail-oriented and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is considered a plus. This bilingual capability will enhance the intern's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute effectively to the Bank's initiatives.
