Job Overview: The Monitoring and ReportingAnalyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Myanmar Country Office by integrating monitoring and reporting into program formulation and tracking progress against Strategic Plan targets. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to develop monitoring indicators, calendars, and plans, ensuring that the program's implementation is aligned with evaluation findings and recommendations. The Analyst will also be responsible for drafting reports for internal and external audiences, including donors and senior management, and will support the development and review of project frameworks and management tools. The role requires active participation in field visits to monitor project results and provide technical support to partners in developing Performance Monitoring Frameworks. The Analyst will contribute to knowledge building and capacity development within the organization, promoting awareness of monitoring and evaluation responsibilities among staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate and contribute to the incorporation of monitoring and reporting into program formulation, including the development of monitoring indicators and quality assurance processes.
Monitor and track results against country/regional level targets and UN Women Strategic Plan, ensuring standardized data collection and analysis across programs.
Facilitate reporting of results to internal and external audiences, including drafting donor and program reports and reviewing partner progress reports.
Provide technical support in implementing the Project and UN Women Evaluation Policy, guiding program staff and partners on monitoring and evaluations.
Contribute to knowledge building and capacity development by identifying good practices and facilitating training opportunities in Results Based Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Political or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an added advantage. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of program formulation, implementation, and Results Based Management, as well as monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Political or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is a plus.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in monitoring and reporting of development projects/programmes is required. Experience within the United Nations system is desirable, along with field experience. Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, as well as experience with web-based management systems, is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English and Myanmar language is required. Working knowledge of another official UN language (such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset.
