Job Overview: The Accounts Receivable Intern will report directly to the Coordinator of Accounts Receivable and will play a crucial role in processing travel assistance claims for National Societies attending the 2026 Statutory Meetings. This position requires the intern to coordinate with various stakeholders within the IFRC Secretariat and National Societies to ensure accurate calculations and timely payments of travel assistance. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining travel assistance records, following up on payments, and monitoring the budget for travel assistance related to statutory meetings. Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with relevant focal points within the IFRC Secretariat and National Societies to calculate and prepare requests for payments of statutory travel assistance.
Maintain travel assistance tables in OneDrive and ensure all claim requests are properly filed.
Follow up with National Societies regarding executed payments to ensure timely processing.
Monitor expenditures under the travel assistance budget line for the statutory meetings.
Provide overall support to the accounts receivable team in day-to-day accounting tasks as needed.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with National Societies and regional offices on matters related to travel assistance, ensuring clarity and support in all communications.
Required Qualifications:
A relevant university degree is required.
A recognized qualification in accounting is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting position is preferred.
Experience working in a multinational, multicultural environment, either in a major commercial company or for an international organization is highly desirable.
Experience in humanitarian or not-for-profit organizations is also preferred.
