Job Overview:
The Education Officer will report to the Chief Education or Education Specialist and will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the work plan for 2026-2

• This position involves providing professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for Digital Education projects. The Officer will apply theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical program information while adhering to organizational rules and regulations. The role is pivotal in developing and formulating the Digital Education component of the Education Programme within the Country Programme, ensuring that the educational needs of children are met effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Officer will be responsible for several key functions, including supporting the development and planning of the Digital Education programme. This involves conducting situation analyses and assessments on Digital Education issues to establish evidence-based data for policy and programme development. The Officer will contribute to the establishment of Digital Education goals and objectives through research and analysis. Additionally, the role includes providing technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming processes, preparing necessary documentation for programme reviews, and monitoring the use of Education programme resources. The Officer will also engage in networking and partnership building with government counterparts and stakeholders, draft communication materials for advocacy, and participate in inter-agency meetings to collaborate on education programmes. Furthermore, the Officer will support knowledge management and capacity building initiatives, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and shared effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in education, psychology, sociology, or a relevant technical field. A minimum of one year of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in digital education is required. Demonstrated skills in programme planning, management, and digital education research are essential. Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) is mandatory, while knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The position requires a university degree in a relevant field such as education, psychology, sociology, or a related technical area. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of educational programming and the specific needs of children in various contexts.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least one year of professional experience in programme planning, management, or research specifically related to digital education. Experience working in developing countries or in fragile settings is highly regarded, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities present in these environments.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language (such as Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is advantageous and can enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
