Job Overview: The Communications & Editorial Specialist will report to the Editorial Manager and is tasked with coordinating, researching, writing, and editing content for the UN Women website. Editorial Packages: Lead the development of editorial packages for campaigns and thematic priorities, solicit inputs, and monitor content for updates.
Collaboration: Build strong relationships with colleagues, provide editorial feedback, and update website content regularly.
Knowledge Building: Identify best practices for editorial guidelines and provide training on communication and advocacy.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in editorial planning, writing, and editing, particularly in international development. Experience in producing digital content for public-facing audiences and familiarity with content management systems and SEO techniques is essential.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism, or a relevant field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted.
