Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this consultancy is to generate reliable, disaggregated, and integrated education evidence by analyzing administrative and household survey datasets. The consultant will transform findings into analytical reports, knowledge products, and interactive dashboards that will enhance evidence-based planning, budgeting, monitoring, and policy dialogue at both national and state levels. The outputs developed will support UNICEF's national and state offices and will be shared with government counterparts to strengthen data-informed planning, implementation, and decision-making. The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the Indian government in enhancing access, retention, and learning outcomes in education, particularly for marginalized communities across 17 states. This position requires high-quality data analysis, knowledge generation, and data visualization to achieve these objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze administrative and household survey datasets to generate reliable education evidence.
  • Develop analytical reports and knowledge products based on data analysis findings.
  • Create interactive dashboards that visualize data effectively for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with UNICEF's national and state offices to ensure outputs meet their needs.
  • Engage with national and state government counterparts to share findings and support data-informed decision-making.
  • Conduct presentations and workshops to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
  • Ensure that all outputs adhere to UNICEF's standards for quality and integrity.
  • Stay updated on best practices in data analysis and visualization to enhance the consultancy's effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master’s university degree in Demography, Statistics, Population Studies, Education, or another relevant social science field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data analysis, monitoring, research, and evaluation in the social sector.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative data analysis, monitoring, research, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing large-scale administrative and household survey datasets, including UDISE+, NAS, NSS, NFHS, ASER, Census, PGI, and other national databases.
  • Advanced skills in statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience in developing Power BI dashboards and interactive data visualization tools.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s university degree in a relevant field such as Demography, Statistics, Population Studies, Education, or another social science discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills required for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data analysis, monitoring, research, and evaluation within the social sector. This extensive experience is crucial for the consultant to effectively analyze complex datasets and produce high-quality outputs that meet UNICEF's standards.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but the primary requirement is strong communication skills in both English and Hindi to facilitate effective collaboration and reporting.

The consultancy contract duration is 11.5 months, and the working arrangement is remote.
