Job Overview: The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Consultant will play a crucial role in expanding UNFPA's donor base and strengthening engagement with the private sector. This position is integral to advancing strategic initiatives that promote sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality, and South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC). The consultant will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and supporting high-quality concept and proposal submissions. The role requires a proactive approach to donor engagement and the development of compelling materials that effectively communicate UNFPA's mission and impact. The consultant will work closely with various teams to ensure alignment with programmatic priorities and technical soundness in proposals, thereby contributing to the overall success of UNFPA's resource mobilization efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a strong donor and partner pipeline by identifying aligned funding opportunities and cultivating strategic partnerships.
Drive donor engagement to achieve UNFPA India's non-core resource mobilization targets, supporting high-quality concept and proposal submissions.
Conduct research on donor priorities, funding windows, and submission processes to inform engagement strategies.
Create compelling donor-facing materials, including presentations, briefing notes, and concept pitches.
Coordinate with thematic, innovations, and state teams to identify priority areas for resource mobilization.
Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and support ongoing knowledge management for resource mobilization efforts.
Identify and engage corporate partners whose business strategies align with the Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business (CRJB).
Support the onboarding of private sector partners and contribute to executive briefings.
Assist in the design and implementation of SSTC initiatives, including project documentation and coordination with partner countries. 1
Collaborate with the Communications team to develop a donor communication and visibility plan that highlights UNFPA's results and impact stories.
Experience: A Master's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience in fundraising, particularly in the development sector.
Proven track record of building meaningful partnerships and resource mobilization.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with the international development landscape and donor requirements.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to exercise tact in interactions with partners.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Social Work, Communications, Marketing, International Relations, or related disciplines. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of resource mobilization and partnerships in the context of international development.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in fundraising, particularly within the development sector. Candidates with a Master's degree should have at least 2 years of experience, while those with a Bachelor's degree should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building meaningful partnerships and mobilizing resources effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of one of the Indian official languages is desirable. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to last for 11 months, with the consultant working full-time at the UNFPA India Country Office in New Delhi. Monthly progress reports will be required, detailing achievements in resource mobilization and partnerships. The consultant will be compensated within the range of INR 1,20,000 to INR 1,50,000 per month, with payments made upon submission of an invoice supported by the progress update. Travel expenses incurred during the consultancy will be reimbursed according to UNFPA rules. The consultant will report directly to the RM and Partnerships Specialist and may be required to travel as part of the consultancy.
