Job Overview:
The Senior Officer, Philanthropic Partnerships – India will play a crucial role in the development, execution, and management of strategic philanthropic partnerships throughout India. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Officer include leading the cultivation, structuring, and stewardship of partnerships with India-based philanthropists, corporate and private foundations, CSR leaders, and peer institutions. The officer will participate in partner meetings, learning engagements, site visits, and convenings, ensuring follow-through and continuity in relationships. They will prepare high-quality briefs, background notes, partnership concepts, and engagement materials to support partner interactions. Additionally, the officer will support the design and operationalization of collaborative platforms, pooled initiatives, and partnership vehicles aligned with the foundation's priorities. They will manage a select portfolio of partnership-related grants, including drafting proposals, conducting progress reviews, tracking budgets, and assessing results. The officer will also contribute to strengthening India's philanthropic ecosystem through landscape analyses and support convenings and knowledge products that promote effective philanthropic practices. Internal alignment and coordination with India Country Office teams, regional strategy leads, and global program teams are essential to ensure that partnership opportunities align with program priorities. The officer will monitor trends in Indian philanthropy, CSR, and social impact to inform engagement approaches and partnership strategies, providing clear updates for internal stakeholders on progress, risks, and emerging opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent experience in public policy, business, development, finance, or a related field. Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in philanthropy, partnerships, strategy, development, consulting, or adjacent fields is required. Experience working with Indian philanthropists, CSR leaders, foundations, intermediaries, or social impact organizations is essential, along with a strong understanding of global health and/or development issues. The ability to engage multiple stakeholders across sectors in India is also necessary. Preferred skills include strong relationship-management and partnership-execution abilities, a successful track record of translating complex challenges into effective multi-partner/funder partnerships, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should be comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders and possess a strong contextual understanding of India’s philanthropic and CSR landscape. A willingness to travel up to approximately 30% within India is also required.
