Job Overview:
The Supply Chain internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at UNRWA is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical experience in a humanitarian environment. Interns will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to real-world assignments while gaining insights into the functions of supply chain management and its critical role in humanitarian operations. The internship aims to develop professional skills, including analytical and communication abilities, and offers exposure to various business processes, data systems, and governance activities. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced UNRWA staff and will not be expected to perform managerial functions or make decisions on behalf of the agency. The internship duration is expected to be between 8 to 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will assist with a variety of tasks under the guidance of their supervisor, including research, data collection, and analysis related to assigned projects. They will review relevant information and documents, document existing business processes and workflows, and support the preparation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidance documents. Interns will also assist with data analysis, reporting, and the preparation of dashboards, while identifying process gaps and opportunities for improvement. Additional responsibilities include conducting research on best practices, preparing presentations and project documentation, testing or developing digital tools, and maintaining organized records of their work. Interns will present their findings to their supervisor or relevant team and may perform other related assignments as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants should be in the final years of an undergraduate program or currently enrolled in a Master’s program, or be recent graduates. They should be studying in a discipline relevant to the internship area, such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Computer Science. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with data visualization and workflow tools like Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, and ERP platforms is advantageous, depending on the specific internship track.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a background in disciplines relevant to supply chain and logistics, including but not limited to Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, and Information Technology. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate strong analytical skills and familiarity with relevant software tools.

Experience:
The internship is aimed at students and recent graduates, so prior professional experience is not strictly required. However, any relevant academic projects or coursework that demonstrate an understanding of supply chain functions and processes will be beneficial. Interns should be prepared to engage in practical assignments that align with their academic background and the needs of the department.

Languages:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, depending on the specific internship assignment and the needs of the organization.

Interns are not financially compensated by the United Nations, and they are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. Candidates who are not citizens or permanent residents of Jordan may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization.
