Job Overview:
The NATO Staff Officer for Info Management and General Logistics is tasked with identifying, defining, optimizing, and coordinating enterprise business processes related to operational planning and execution of logistic support for NATO exercises and operations. This role is crucial during peacetime, crises, and conflicts, ensuring that logistics are effectively managed and executed. The incumbent will assist the Officer of Primary Responsibility (OPR) in coordinating operational requirements for information systems that support ACO logistics, medical, and military engineering stakeholders. The position requires a strategic mindset to develop policies, tools, and processes that enhance information management across various functional areas. The officer will also support NATO's digital transformation initiatives and contribute to the development of logistics capabilities aligned with NATO 2030 objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify, define, optimize, and coordinate enterprise business processes related to operational planning and execution of logistic support for NATO exercises and operations during peacetime, crisis, and conflict.
  • Assist the OPR in coordinating operational requirements development for information systems supporting ACO logistics, medical, and military engineering stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze Logistics Information Management (LIM) responsibilities across functional areas, utilizing systems like LOGFAS and MAVEN Smart System.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance for NATO information systems related to LIM.
  • Develop policies, tools, and processes to support information systems for ACO logistics, medical, and military engineering.
  • Direct and coordinate the development of ACO procedures and planning guidance for LIM.
  • Identify LIM policy and material requirements and implement solutions.
  • Act as Operational Sponsor for the development, use, and management of NATO LIMs.
  • Provide LIM functional advice and support for NATO and national planning. 1
  • Support various boards, working groups, and committees. 1
  • Assist in training and exercises related to logistics and information management. 1
  • Conduct additional duties related to information management across logistics, medical, and military engineering functional areas, including NATO Digital Enterprise Transformation and Next Generation Modelling & Simulation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing enterprise-level logistics projects.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing logistics policy and processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing enterprise-level information management projects.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing information management policy and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Initiative and a positive attitude, with the ability to embrace and lead change.

Educational Background:
A university degree in library, information science, management information systems, computer science, or a related discipline is required, along with 2 years of function-related experience. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or accreditation, combined with 4 years of post-related experience, will also be considered. Additional job-specific qualifications may take precedence over standard educational requirements in cases of ambiguity.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in logistics and information management, demonstrating a strong understanding of enterprise-level project management and policy development. Experience in leading teams and previous service at NATO is highly desirable, as is familiarity with NATO 2030 initiatives and capability delivery models.

Languages:
English proficiency is mandatory, with a requirement of SLP 3333 (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing). The work environment primarily operates in English, and candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The successful candidate will be appointed as a Project Linked NATO International Civilian (PLN) with a three-year definite duration contract under the NATO 2030 Agenda. The position may require deployments in support of military operations and exercises, potentially exceeding 30 days. The salary will be based on the NATO Grade of the post, with possible allowances based on eligibility, subject to pension and medical insurance contributions.
