Job Overview:
The Water Technical Officer position is integral to the IAEA's Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, specifically within the Isotope Hydrology Section. The role involves the implementation and management of extrabudgetary projects aimed at enhancing analytical capacity in Member States. The officer will provide expert technical advice on the construction and upgrading of water analysis laboratories, guide necessary training for laboratory operations, and assist in integrating water data into policy and governance frameworks. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in water analysis, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Water Technical Officer will be responsible for planning, managing, and implementing extrabudgetary projects focused on laboratory development. Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance on analytical techniques for determining concentrations of various dissolved elements, writing progress reports for project partners, coordinating with the Department of Technical Cooperation for joint activities, liaising with external counterparts to meet project needs, and organizing seminars, workshops, and training courses. Additionally, the officer will contribute to reports and documents for senior management and governing bodies, ensuring that project objectives are met effectively and efficiently.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in hydrochemistry, analytical chemistry, or geochemistry, with a PhD considered an asset. A minimum of five years of practical experience in applying analytical techniques for water analysis is required, along with substantial experience in implementing laboratory research projects, including proficiency testing and accreditation procedures. Candidates should have a broad understanding of natural resource management principles, particularly in water resource management, and a strong technical background in nuclear techniques related to water resources management. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, along with the ability to analyze technical and scientific information effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's or PhD) in hydrochemistry, analytical chemistry, or geochemistry. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong foundation in analytical techniques and their application in water analysis, as well as knowledge of isotope hydrology and environmental isotopes.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the application of analytical techniques for water analysis. Languages:
