Job Overview:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that all development activities within the IAEA's Division adhere to established policies, processes, procedures, and standards. This position involves defining, collecting, and analyzing quality metrics to facilitate process and product improvements. The engineer will participate in product and service design reviews, testing, configuration control, problem reporting and resolution, and change control. The role requires a collaborative approach to drive process improvement efforts within the Division, ensuring that quality assurance practices are effectively implemented and maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for conducting project quality assurance reviews and audits for all active projects within the Division. This includes verifying that project deliverables meet or exceed established quality criteria. The engineer will also participate in software testing, analyze test results, and improve testing procedures. Additionally, the engineer will engage in independent reviews of project planning documents and acceptance procedures, define and collect quality metrics for trend analysis, prepare quality status reports, and assist the quality assurance manager in coaching development teams. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality-related issues and ensuring that all divisional quality processes, standards, and guidelines are up to date.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline. Certification in quality management and/or a degree in system engineering is desirable. The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, with at least two years specifically in software quality assurance and/or quality control. Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory, and knowledge of other official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Additional certifications in quality management or system engineering are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of practical experience in relevant fields, with at least two years specifically focused on software quality assurance or quality control. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies, as well as the ability to apply these in a practical setting.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the IAEA. Knowledge of additional official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is beneficial and may enhance communication and collaboration within the organization.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $71,335, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
