Job Overview:
The Climate and Environmental security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Intern position offers a unique opportunity for a fresh graduate to gain practical experience in various fields, including climate resilience, environmental conservation, freshwater ecosystem management, renewable energy, disaster risk reduction, community engagement, and project management. The intern will work closely with the Climate and Environmental Security Programme team, assisting in data collection and analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, knowledge management, and communication activities. This role is designed to contribute to the achievement of the programme's objectives while providing the intern with valuable insights and hands-on experience in addressing climate change and environmental issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the programme's operations. These include assisting with the preparation of activity plans, meeting materials, and programme documentation; organizing and coordinating programme events, workshops, trainings, and field visits; providing logistical support for meetings and travel; assisting in data collection, data entry, and information management; preparing presentations, reports, and knowledge products; conducting desk research and literature reviews; compiling lessons learned and best practices; and participating in learning events and discussions to enhance understanding of climate and environmental issues. The intern will also engage with local communities and project beneficiaries, contributing to the overall success of the programme.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a college or bachelor's degree (recent graduates are encouraged to apply) in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Development Studies, Agriculture, or a related field. A demonstrated interest in climate change, environmental conservation, sustainable development, or humanitarian and development work is essential. Previous volunteer, internship, or extracurricular experience in relevant fields will be considered an advantage, as it showcases the candidate's commitment and understanding of the sector.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a college or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Development Studies, Agriculture, or similar disciplines. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of climate and environmental issues, as well as the skills needed for effective project management and community engagement.

Experience:
The position is aimed at fresh graduates, meaning that candidates are not required to have extensive professional experience. However, any previous volunteer work, internships, or extracurricular activities related to climate change, environmental conservation, or sustainable development will be beneficial and may enhance the candidate's application. This internship is designed to provide practical experience and learning opportunities for those at the beginning of their careers.

Languages:
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is mandatory, as well as good command of the Myanmar language. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration within a multicultural team and for engaging with local communities and stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the communities served by the WWF-Myanmar programme.

Additional Notes:
This internship position is for a duration of one year and is open to candidates aged 18-30 years. The role is based in Yangon, Myanmar, with possible travel to project locations as required. Interns will receive a stipend along with other benefits.
