Job Overview: The role of Asistente Técnico/a Financiero/a is crucial for executing and supporting the operational processes of accounting, treasury, taxes, and financial management within the office. The primary objective is to ensure timely and reliable recording of financial information, compliance with fiscal obligations, and proper processing of payments in accordance with NRC policies and current regulations. The Asistente Técnico/a Financiero/a will be expected to collaborate with various departments, prepare financial reports, and maintain accurate financial records, thereby playing a vital role in the financial health of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente Técnico/a Financiero/a will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines; supporting the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the action plan; preparing and developing status reports required by management; ensuring proper filing of documents; promoting ideas to strengthen support functions; assisting in the planning and monitoring of all financial, accounting, and administrative actions of the office; managing accounting and financial tools implemented by NRC; applying internal control measures in accordance with NRC policies; timely recording and processing of accounting transactions in the financial system; maintaining updated accounting records; supporting monthly and annual accounting closures; performing bank reconciliations; processing payments to suppliers and contractors; managing cash flow and bank accounts; safeguarding financial resources; assisting in tax obligations and reporting; monitoring financial budgets; accompanying audits; maintaining organized financial records; supporting the socialization and implementation of financial manuals and procedures; attending delegated meetings; and executing other functions assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Technologist degree or be in the final semesters of a degree in Public Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields. A minimum of one year of work experience in accounting-related functions within humanitarian contexts is required. Candidates should have experience working in complex and changing environments, with proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position. Basic knowledge of the English language is also necessary, along with solid understanding of local accounting and tax regulations, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel at an intermediate level. Familiarity with accounting software is also essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree or ongoing studies in Public Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields. Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as relevant coursework that supports their ability to perform the duties of the Asistente Técnico/a Financiero/a effectively.
Experience: The position requires at least one year of proven experience in a similar role, particularly in contexts related to humanitarian assistance.
