Job Overview:
The Outcome Lead - Climate Action position at UNDP involves managing a multi-million dollar portfolio aimed at promoting climate resilience and sustainable development in the Philippines. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Outcome Lead - Climate Action include:

• Supervising and managing the Climate Action Programme Team, ensuring effective implementation and strategic direction of relevant outcomes of the UNDP programme.
• Leading the management of the country office programme and supervising the Programme team, focusing on quality control throughout the programming cycle.
• Establishing strategic partnerships and supporting resource mobilization efforts to sustain UNDP's climate initiatives.
• Providing high-quality advisory services to the government and facilitating knowledge building and management.
• Conducting analysis of the political, social, and economic situation in the country to inform programmatic decisions.
• Operationalizing the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and Country Programme Document (CPD) in collaboration with key partners.
• Ensuring that new programs incorporate gender equality and women's empowerment at the design stage.
• Monitoring and evaluating program implementation, measuring impact, and adjusting strategies as necessary.
• Preparing donor reports and maintaining a cost-recovery system for services provided by the country office. 1
• Engaging with national and international partners to enhance UNDP's credibility in climate change and environmental issues.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Outcome Lead - Climate Action position include:

• Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience with a master’s degree or 7 years with a bachelor’s degree in management advisory services, design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
• At least 5 years of experience in resilient development, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and natural resources management.
• Proven experience in senior-level management responsibilities of similar portfolio size and complexity.
• Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, as well as experience with web-based management systems.
• Experience working with a UN agency, government, or international institution is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Management, or Urban Planning. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, combined with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of climate action and sustainable development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a master’s degree or 7 years for those with a bachelor’s degree. This experience should include providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects, and establishing inter-relationships among international organizations and national governments. Candidates should also have at least 5 years of experience in areas such as resilient development, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and natural resources management, as well as senior-level management responsibilities in similar portfolios.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Filipino is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another UN language is desirable, which would enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the international development context.
