Job Overview: The Communications Analyst position is situated within the Infrastructure and Dissemination Division (DCID) of the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK) at ADB. The role is pivotal in managing and enhancing the web infrastructure led by DOCK, which includes the main ADB website (adb.org), the Asian Development Blog, and Development Asia. The Communications Analyst will be responsible for assessing web content and business requirements, analyzing web performance, and understanding user needs to provide actionable recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness, usability, and quality of ADB's digital content. This position requires a proactive approach to web content management and a commitment to continuous improvement in digital communications.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assessing web content requests and business requirements, recommending suitable content and web solutions in line with established standards; analyzing web content, structure, usage, and performance data to identify areas for improvement; conducting content audits and suggesting actions to enhance content quality, relevance, accessibility, consistency, and user experience; collaborating with internal clients and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective web content and structural solutions; supporting the assessment and implementation of complex web requests; advising internal clients on web content standards and digital publishing requirements; coordinating the publication and disclosure of project and Board documents; contributing to the development of web content standards and procedures; managing web publishing consultants and contractors; developing responsive web pages for optimal user experience across devices; and performing other related tasks as assigned by the Director, DCID.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Communications Analyst position must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Digital Communications, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or related fields. A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital communications is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience in international agencies. The ideal candidate should have experience in editing both print and web-based publications, a solid understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and metadata management, and proficiency in standard software programs and information technologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively liaise with staff from diverse cultural backgrounds. Skills in data visualization and graphic design are considered an asset, as is experience with content management systems such as Drupal and SharePoint.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Digital Communications, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the technical and communicative aspects of the role, enabling the candidate to effectively manage web content and digital communications.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of digital communications. Candidates with experience in international agencies will be given preference, as this background will provide valuable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities present in a global context. The experience should encompass a range of digital communication strategies and practices, including web content management, SEO, and digital publishing.
