Job Overview:
The GEDSI Analyst position is a hybrid role based in Jakarta, requiring 8 days per month in the office. The analyst will provide technical and analytical support to advance the integration of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across WRI Indonesia's projects, particularly focusing on urban, transport, and climate policy transitions towards a sustainable and low-carbon economy. The role is crucial for ensuring that project design, implementation, knowledge products, and stakeholder engagement processes reflect inclusive, equitable, and evidence-based approaches. The analyst will work closely with government agencies, community organizations, private sector partners, and development partners to incorporate diverse perspectives throughout project implementation, ultimately producing policy recommendations that promote equitable and inclusive transition outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GEDSI Analyst will be responsible for conducting systematic reviews of policies and regulations related to gender and equity aspects of clean air solutions, energy, and transportation transitions at both national and subnational levels. This includes designing assessment tools to evaluate the distribution of benefits and burdens among various social groups affected by these transitions. The analyst will conduct consultative studies through GEDSI-sensitive focus group discussions, co-develop policy recommendations, and develop strategies to mitigate negative impacts on marginalized communities. Additionally, the analyst will manage project activities, coordinate technical inputs, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure GEDSI is integrated into project design and implementation. The role also involves organizing workshops, meetings, and capacity-building activities, as well as supporting documentation and knowledge management related to GEDSI activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in social sciences, gender studies, public policy, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or related fields. A combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered. A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in GEDSI, social inclusion, social research, environmental justice, community development, or related areas is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to design and implement social research, including defining research questions and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. Familiarity with participatory approaches and a strong understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion issues in environmental governance are essential. Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks are also required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, gender studies, public policy, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or other related disciplines. Candidates with a combination of education and relevant work experience may also be considered, indicating a flexible approach to educational qualifications.

Experience:
The GEDSI Analyst should have a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in areas such as GEDSI, social inclusion, social research, environmental justice, community development, or related fields. This experience should include designing and implementing social research, as well as familiarity with participatory methods and community engagement.

Languages:
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory, with strong writing and analytical skills in both languages. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position is expected to commence as soon as possible, with an initial contract period lasting until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance evaluation, programmatic needs, and budget availability. The analyst will be compensated on a daily rate basis, with a maximum of 18 working days per month. Candidates must have existing work authorization in Indonesia at the time of application, as WRI is unable to sponsor work visas. The role is locally engaged, and Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply.
