Job Overview: The Senior Associate, Streaming & Community Fundraising is a pivotal role within the Integrated Channel Marketing team at Doctors Without Borders. This position is designed to enhance MSF-USA's fundraising efforts in the rapidly growing areas of livestreaming, gaming, and creator-led community fundraising. The Senior Associate will manage the execution of various streaming fundraising initiatives, including gaming campaigns and livestream events, while also contributing to a multi-year roadmap aimed at scaling these programs. The role requires building engagement with niche creator communities and exploring opportunities with larger creators to achieve scalable fundraising outcomes, particularly during emergency response situations. The Senior Associate is expected to drive approximately 20% year-over-year revenue growth in streaming fundraising, collaborating with various teams across the organization to ensure that streaming efforts are integrated into broader fundraising strategies and supporter journeys.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Associate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
Prospecting for strategic opportunities that align with MSF-USA's mission and create long-term value by identifying new audience segments or donors.
Cultivating and managing relationships with potential and existing donors, ensuring trust and loyalty through effective communication and engagement strategies.
Securing sustainable resources for fundraising efforts in alignment with MSF-USA's commitments.
Driving brand awareness and positioning through effective implementation of brand strategies.
Managing the development and execution of streaming and gaming fundraising events, including planning, ideation, and post-event analysis.
Identifying improvements in streaming and community fundraising practices and proposing innovative solutions.
Developing and executing marketing campaigns that align with strategic fundraising goals.
Building relationships with creators and communities to enhance participation and retention in fundraising initiatives.
Supporting internal relationship management to ensure effective collaboration across teams and alignment with organizational strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Senior Associate position should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in livestream, gaming, community, or peer-to-peer fundraising, or related digital fundraising roles. Proven expertise in driving revenue growth and scaling fundraising programs is essential, along with a strong understanding of streaming platforms and creator ecosystems. Candidates should also demonstrate strong operational, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build workflows and systems that clarify complex programs. Excellent analytical and communication skills are required to interpret performance data and present actionable insights to peers and leadership. Familiarity with CRM and fundraising platforms such as Salesforce, Tiltify, and GoFundMePro is preferred, as is a connection to gaming and online community culture.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who have pursued studies related to fundraising, marketing, communications, or a similar field. Relevant certifications in fundraising or project management may also be beneficial.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of combined relevant experience in livestream, gaming, community, or peer-to-peer fundraising, or related digital fundraising roles. This experience should include a proven track record of managing fundraising campaigns or events from planning through execution and evaluation, as well as experience in driving revenue growth and scaling fundraising programs.
Languages: While English is the mandatory language for this position, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the communities served by MSF. Familiarity with languages commonly spoken in gaming and online communities may also be beneficial.
Additional Notes: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities over direct reports but may provide functional support to interns and volunteers. The Senior Associate is expected to travel for work as needed, with travel requirements estimated at 15 to 30 percent, primarily within the US. The compensation for this role ranges from $78,399 to $117,599, depending on relevant experience and skills.
