Job Overview:
The Senior Finance Analyst, Data, Insights & Learning plays a crucial role in supporting Save the Children's mission by enhancing fundraising modeling and analytics capabilities. This position is pivotal in fostering a culture of data-informed decision-making within the organization. Reporting to the Director of Grant Finance & Compliance, the analyst will work closely with the External Engagement team, utilizing advanced analytics and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Excel, and others to derive actionable insights that optimize fundraising initiatives and enhance supporter engagement. The role involves hands-on data analysis, programming, and modeling, ensuring data quality and integration across platforms, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Senior Finance Analyst include performing hands-on data analysis and programming using SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel. The analyst will support the development and maintenance of fundraising dashboards and reports, ensuring data quality and hygiene. Responsibilities also encompass preparing datasets for segmentation and campaign optimization, summarizing performance trends for leadership review, and contributing to insights decks and performance reviews. The analyst will lead the proposal budgeting process, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, and prepare financial reports for various programs. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with finance management teams to improve processes and participating in audits and assessments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5-7 years in International Development, NGOs, or not-for-profit sectors. Advanced proficiency in handling large financial datasets, data modeling, and visualization is essential. Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships across diverse audiences. Project management experience and the ability to work under pressure are also important qualifications for this role.

Educational Background:
A post-secondary degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience in a relevant area may also be considered. The candidate should have a strong foundation in financial principles and practices, particularly in the context of non-profit organizations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, particularly in roles related to finance, analytics, or data management within the International Development or NGO sectors. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with large datasets and financial modeling, as well as experience in project management and strategic planning.

Languages:
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and audiences.

Additional Notes:
This position offers a salary range of $63,323.32 - $80,295.12 CAD, depending on skills and experience.
