Job Overview:
The Operations Analyst position at MIGA is crucial for supporting activities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA). The role involves business development, relationship management with key clients and partners, and coordination with various stakeholders including shareholders and development finance institutions. The analyst will be responsible for conducting independent research, preparing briefing notes, and analyzing financial data to identify business opportunities. This position requires a proactive approach to support MIGA's mission of promoting foreign direct investment and enhancing project development in the region. The analyst will work closely with the Eastern Europe Regional Head and will be based in Vienna, Austria, or Paris, France, contributing to the overall strategic goals of MIGA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Analyst include: conducting independent research on various sectors and regions, preparing briefing notes for senior management, and analyzing financial data to identify trends in foreign direct investment (FDI). The analyst will map potential clients and partners for MIGA, collect and synthesize data from public and WBG sources, and prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the analyst will assist in underwriting political risk insurance and credit enhancement guarantees, prepare sections of relevant reports, and liaise with counterparties to ensure data quality. The role also involves tracking project statuses, supporting client meetings, and maintaining databases related to special sector initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in international business administration, finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project/export finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or credit analysis. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to work successfully in multicultural teams are essential. Candidates should demonstrate teamwork skills, a strong client service orientation, and excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both oral and written.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in fields such as international business administration, finance, or a related discipline. This advanced education is critical for understanding complex financial models and conducting thorough analyses necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in areas such as project/export finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or credit analysis. This experience should ideally be gained in a major bank, financial institution, management consulting firm, or trading company, providing the candidate with a solid foundation in financial modeling and credit analysis.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English, along with one or more of the following languages: Kazakh, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Uzbek, or Turkish. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with clients and stakeholders in the region.
