Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the country strategy in alignment with NRC's overall mission and objectives.
• Represent NRC at the national level, engaging with government authorities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the safety and security of all staff members, implementing necessary protocols and measures.
• Advocate for the needs of the affected populations at the national level, ensuring their voices are heard.
• Mobilize resources and allocate them effectively to meet programmatic needs.
• Ensure cost efficiency and quality in program implementation, including the establishment of control mechanisms.
• Oversee the development of adequate structures and systems to support program delivery.
• Promote staff learning, training, and development to enhance team performance and capacity.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in senior management or as a Country Director in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Strong advocacy skills and experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Understanding of emergency settings and the complexities involved in humanitarian response.
• Excellent representation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
• Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in humanitarian studies, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian response or management are preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in humanitarian operations, particularly in leadership roles. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a senior management position within a humanitarian organization is preferred, with a strong track record of successful program delivery and team leadership.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset and would be beneficial for effective communication with local stakeholders and communities.
