Job Overview:
The SSDP Program Manager will play a crucial role in implementing CRS's Safeguarding Policy and standards across all project activities. This position involves providing technical support, tools, and leadership to the CRS project team and its partners, ensuring that safeguarding and safe, dignified programming frameworks are effectively applied. The manager will be responsible for direct implementation of policies and procedures related to safeguarding, as well as offering technical assistance and mentorship to staff and partners. The role requires collaboration with the Global Safeguarding Team and other technical advisors to strengthen the capacity of the project team and ensure that the needs of vulnerable households are met through effective programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SSDP Program Manager will be responsible for training frontline project and partner staff on safeguarding and protection-related issues, applying the CRS Partner Safeguarding Policy and Procedure to ensure compliance and capacity strengthening. The manager will provide technical assistance and mentoring on safe and dignified programming, facilitate risk assessments, and develop communication strategies to raise awareness among communities about their rights and reporting expectations. Additionally, the manager will monitor feedback and complaint response mechanisms, strengthen the capacities of partners and project teams, and ensure that safeguarding considerations are integrated into project designs and proposals. Regular updates on safeguarding efforts and best practices will be communicated to the project team, and the manager will actively participate in relevant forums to share insights and learn from others in the field.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Rights, Gender, International Development, Social Work, Psychology, or a related area, or have equivalent professional experience. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required, with at least two years in safeguarding, protection, or gender roles within an NGO setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence others and develop culturally sensitive training programs. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in standard office applications. A humble and approachable demeanor, along with a commitment to problem-solving within compliance frameworks, is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in fields such as Human Rights, Gender, International Development, Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, with progressively increasing responsibilities. Candidates should have at least two years of experience specifically in safeguarding, protection, or gender roles, preferably in an advisory or management capacity within an international NGO. Experience in guiding and advising staff, developing training programs, and managing projects in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in English being highly desirable. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is crucial for the role, as it involves training staff and engaging with communities.
