Job Overview: The Principal Solution Architect is tasked with designing comprehensive solutions that address business challenges while supporting the Technical Architect in their implementation. This role is pivotal in leading the development of a portfolio of solutions, which encompasses projects, products, systems, shared infrastructure, and application services. The Principal ensures that technology solutions are in alignment with business objectives and architectural standards, contributing to the strategic outcomes of the organization. The position requires a proactive approach to shaping future-state architectures that are not only technically sound but also integral to the long-term success of the Bank. The Principal will work closely with various stakeholders, including product owners and managers, to maintain a robust architectural framework that supports ongoing product evolution and innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Principal Solution Architect will interpret and translate complex business and technical requirements into coherent architectural blueprints that achieve strategic business outcomes. Responsibilities include documenting solution architecture designs, ensuring alignment with both current and long-term objectives, and collaborating with Technical Architects to transform high-level solutions into actionable designs. The role involves leading the evaluation and development of future-state technology architecture, analyzing global trends, and applying strategic insights to guide innovation. The Principal will define and govern the implementation of solution architectures across various business applications and technology domains, develop long-term roadmaps, and provide architecture guidance at both enterprise and delivery levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as a trusted advisor, developing end-to-end solution designs, translating complex business needs into technology solutions, and providing expert guidance on platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager and Microsoft Power Platform.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly, both in written and verbal formats. Experience in capturing technical requirements and documenting them effectively is essential. The ideal candidate should have a background in engaging with business and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment between architecture and business goals. Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and product-aligned teams is necessary, along with demonstrable experience working within the TOGAF framework. Expertise in solution integration, process orchestration, and data flow design across enterprise systems is required, as well as a strong grasp of enterprise integration patterns and APIs. Candidates should also have experience leading solution architecture using Azure services and a deep understanding of Java application design and development practices.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as TOGAF, Microsoft Certified (Power Platform, Azure Solutions Architect), and Adobe AEM certifications are desirable. Continuous professional development in solution architecture and technology innovation is expected, as reflected in certifications and training.
Experience: Candidates should have extensive experience in solution architecture, particularly in enterprise environments. A proven track record of delivering architecture in relevant business areas such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, or Communications/Marketing is essential. Experience in leading architecture on cross-functional projects and managing diverse stakeholders is also required, along with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.
